My ideal living space is a freestanding home in the nature reserve of ‘Het Bossche Broek,’ just outside ’s-Hertogenbosch. This unique spot combines the tranquility of nature with the convenience of city life, offering beautiful views, peaceful walks, and abundant birdlife.

The house is built from interconnected shipping containers, providing a flexible and affordable structure. The ground floor includes a living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and storage, while the first floor features a workspace, gym, and a second bathroom. Large windows bring in natural light and offer stunning views, and a skylight in the bedroom allows me to see the sky from my bed, with the option to open or close it.

I’ve chosen simple, natural materials, especially wood, to create a peaceful, cohesive space inspired by Japanese design. The home’s minimalistic aesthetic focuses on the experience of space rather than luxury, offering a serene and comfortable environment to share with family and friends.

Although building in a protected nature reserve isn’t realistic, this vision reflects my ideal living space.
